چکیده

A new particle identification device for Jlab 12 GeV physics program is proposed. It is based on the measurement of time information by means of a new radio frequency picosecond phototube (RFPP) and time measuring concept. The expected time measurement precision for Cherenkov time-of-flight (TOF) detector in a “head-on” geometry based on RFPP is about or less than 5 picoseconds, FWHM. The proposal has two goals, 1. The R&D for optimization and manufacturing of the RFPP. 2. The development, construction and test of a Cherenkov picosecond timing technique based on the RFPP, for Jlab 12 GeV physics program, in particular, the development of Cherenkov correlated timing (CCT) or time-of-propagation detector (TOP) and Cherenkov TOF detector in a “head-on” geometry. It is supposed that the RFPP will be manufactured by the US company and that the prototype Cherenkov detectors will be constructed at Yerevan, tested at Yerevan and at Tohoku University electron stretcher-booster and latter at JLab.

The JLab Upgrade - Studies of the Nucleon with CLAS 12 . Selected topics

An overview is presented on the program to study the nucleon structure at the 12 GeV JLab upgrade using the CLAS12 detector. The focus is on deeply virtual exclusive processes to access the generalized parton distributions, semi-inclusive processes to study transverse momentum dependent distribution functions and inclusive spin structure functions, and resonance transition form factors at high ...

Study of Hypernuclei with Intense Electron-Photon Beams

In this letter, we propose to investigate Λ hypernuclei for the A 15 mass region by using pionic decay. The Project aims to determine precisely the binding energies of light hypernuclei, investigate production of exotic hypernuclei, and study impurity nuclear physics and the medium effect of baryons. ≤ These investigations will fully utilize the unique parameters (high intensity, small emittanc...

The Gpd Experimental Program at Jefferson Lab

Recent results on the Generalized Parton Distribution (GPD) program at Jefferson Lab (JLab) will be presented. The emphasis will be in the Hall A program aiming at measuring Q−dependences of different terms of the Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) cross section. This is a fundamental step before one can extract GPD information from JLab DVCS data. The upcoming program in Hall A, using bo...

Strangeness Physics with Clas at Jlab

A brief overview of strangeness physics with the CLAS detector at JLab is given, mainly covering the domain of nucleon resonances. Several excited states predicted by the symmetric constituent quark model may have significant couplings to the KΛ or KΣ channels. I will discuss data that are relevant in the search for such states in the strangeness channel, and give an outlook on the future prosp...
